Website and Asset Development
In terms of building the actual website, I of course initially started by planning the ux design of all the separate pages. I did this traditionally in a sketchbook and you can see so in figures 1 through to 4 which display the different pages and layouts I will use and where everything will be placed. When building the website, I started off by creating all of the assets separately. I did this with a variety of different software such … Continue reading “Website and Asset Development”
Tattoo Designs and Portfolios
A key part of this project is creating the fictional artists and their portfolios. I chose to use my research from the previous assignment (and my personal interest) to create three different artists that each focus on a different style of tattooing. All tattoo designs however will be completed and compiled by myself. There are three artists so far, Cherry, Corey and Heather. Cherry is the owner of the studio and subsequently it is named after her. Cherry is almost … Continue reading “Tattoo Designs and Portfolios”
Finding the Unique Selling point
When planning and designing the brand for my website and final project, I knew that there had to be a unique selling point, a feature that will encourage people to choose this tattoo studio instead of another high-street shop. To do this, I started to think of who my target audience is and eventually concluded that it would be younger people just getting into tattoos and more so young women. After I had decided this I brainstorm reasons why someone … Continue reading “Finding the Unique Selling point”
The Website and the Brand
The first thing I worked on fully developing was the branding of the studio itself. Most tattoo studios rely heavily on their artists and their tattoo styles to create the brand, but for this project I want to make sure that the studio itself has clear branding so that was the first thing I focused on. I started by making a name and identity for the studio which I decided would be ‘Cherry’s’ as if the owner and head artist’s … Continue reading “The Website and the Brand”
Introduction
In this development log I will discuss and log my process of creating the main practical element of my Major project. In this project I will create a tattoo studio brand displayed in the form of a website made using ‘Elementor’. Alongside this, there will also be separate portfolios for 3 or 4 different fictional artists. I will be using my research from the previous assignment to create varying styles and portfolios for each artist. This project does stray a … Continue reading “Introduction”

Final Video Render
The lights ended up having a few issues in the render farm so I ended up having to edit a few things in terms of the lights but overall I am extremely happy with how it turned out and I feel like it is an effective and atmospheric experience. Developments of Assets and Scenes
In this blog post I will show the process of modelling and building the assets and scenes used for my immersive experience. As well as talking through the process of modelling some of the more difficult assets I will also talk about the things that went well, the struggles I came across and recap on some of the compositional and design choices I made. When first modelling scene 1 I started with a plane as the floor which I then … Continue reading “Developments of Assets and Scenes”
Navigation Considerations
One of the key considerations I had when designing and modelling my immersive design was cyber sickness and making the user feel comfortable and safe in the digital space. One way I considered this in all my designs was making sure that the scene was completely full of assets, and I also made sure that focus was being lightly steered to certain assets and areas of the scene constantly so that there wasn’t too much silent time in each scene … Continue reading “Navigation Considerations”
