Overall, I really enjoyed working in a team especially with Corey and Joey. It was nice to work with people who had similar taste and ideas to myself. I think that we produced a cohesive brand and all of our designs work well together, we also managed to keep up with each other even in sometimes difficult circumstances.
In this experience I learnt that communication and assertiveness is the easiest way to create a cohesive project. About halfway through our project I noticed that our visuals were starting to look different from each others, sometimes I find it easier to follow what other team members are doing and not say anything but as I was working with my friends I found it easy to assert myself when I saw something start to go wrong. I was able to tell Corey (our team leader) that we needed to communicate more with each other and sit down and make decisions which we did and now we have a finalised cohesive project. This experience taught me that I can be assertive and ask to make changes and this can help not only improve the quality of my work, but also everyone else’s.
I also learnt that next time I am in a team, I excel at being a team leader. In this project I have developed skills that have allowed me to accurately explain my decisions to others and I have also been there to encourage and lead my teammates in the correct direction. As we worked on this project throughout the semester I found myself opening up and being able to push my ideas to the team well enough to have them used In finalised designs and branding choices.
