Organisational skills, schedules and planning

When we had finalised our group, we discussed our individual roles, skills and how we could organise our workload and when we would meet up. Originally we planned to meet at least once every week to work together, discuss ideas and plan what we needed to do next. Because we worked in a group of friends, communication in regards to planning our workload was easy and honest as ‘When the trust account is high, communication is easy, instant, and effective’ (Covey, Stephen. R, 1988).

Firstly, we decided that as our project was based on branding, the logo and brand identity of the cafe and coffee brand was the starting point. We brainstormed some names, colour palettes and logo ideas and eventually finalised the logo into a raccoon. The raccoon was a theme we used throughout our project so that we had a recognisable visual that would link our work together. We set up a google drive document that we could all access and a group powerpoint so that we could work at home and add things when we wanted to.

Throughout the project we continued to meet up to work through what we had and were able to communicate effectively if any issues arose or anything needed to be changed. Usually, we would work after we had presented our ideas in the lecture so that we could improve and add content that our peers had recommended as soon as possible.

Whilst working through our project I realised that due to personal issues I was going to have to apply for an extension which therefore meant that our group had to plan and organise the work around me. This was not an issue as I managed to keep up my workload so that Joey and Corey had enough to work with by the time that their assignment was due.
