In our group project we will be designing a cafe called ‘Cosy Club’. In this project we will create the design of the interior of the cafe itself, the brand of the cafe and the merchandise that the cafe will sell. We will all contribute to the overall design, brand and feel of the cafe but we will individually create visuals to apply to the project.
Our group consists of Corey Bradley (team leader), Joey Allen and me. In our workshop we did an exercise in which we found out what role we would play whilst working in a group. In this exercise we watched an orchestra perform and filled in a worksheet deciding what role in the orchestra we would most like to play. I chose the ‘oboe player’ or ‘the soprano’. By filling out this work sheet I found out that I like to contribute good work to the group but prefer to do so whilst being lead by someone else (like the oboe player). I also discovered that I am a good presenter and don’t mind showcasing my work when the time is right (like the soprano).
In our group, the work was split evenly. With Joey focusing on the website and merchandise, Corey focusing on leading the group, 3D modelling and graphic design and me focusing on artwork and branding as these are what I consider to be my strengths. We made sure that when splitting the workload we each could do things that played to our strengths. I have decided that I will use multiple platforms such as Illustrator, Procreate and Photoshop to create the graphics and artwork that our group will use to help create our product brand.
