Design Process

We started by researching our target market and mind mapping names, colours and logo ideas as ‘research arms a graphic designer with knowledge, making it easier to create something that the client will love’ (Admin, 2021) Once we knew our target market and the name of our brand I designed the logo which features a raccoon. I chose the raccoon as it is a popular animal with our target audience and it has an instantly recognisable face. The logo is a raccoon holding a cup of coffee with a scarf on – illustrating the cozy part of ‘Cozy Club’.

Next, I worked on the menus. A menu must be easy to read and organised into sections. I also created advertisements for the opening of the cafe and a brand-sheet.

The alcoholic drink menu – The drinks and prices are easy to read but sticking to the brand by using the racoon illustrations and fonts to tie it together
The soft drinks menu – allergen information at the bottom, I chose to keep it simple so that people can easily read the options we have

Then I worked on the brand of coffee that would be sold inside of the cafe (and in supermarkets). I came up with a different logo along with the packaging that the coffee would be sold in as well as advertisements for social media.

Coffee pod packaging – this is the type of coffee that you put in to a machine at home.
A social media advertisement experimenting with negative space and the heart shape of the raccoon – to be posted social media.
