Asset notes 1

In the notes and illustrations above I planned out the basics of how I want my assets to look. For the monitor I knew that I wanted to texture the asset to look as if it had a screen and desktop and I knew that I wanted to design a rusty and old looking safe full of coins. I also decided how I would display my safe – I chose to model the door open so it looked as if it had been broken into.

For my weapons cabinet I did some research. I looked into reference images and found this image:

GSS Doors. 2021. Secure Weapons Storage Cabinets | Gun Lockers. [online] Available at: <https://gssdoors.com/weapons-storage-cabinets.html> [Accessed 13 January 2021].

This is the image that inspired my model and illustrations the most and was found on this website: https://gssdoors.com/weapons-storage-cabinets.html

My walkie talkie was also planned from an image:

Motorola, 2020. Motorola XT180 Walkie Talkies & 2 Way Radios. [image] Available at: <https://export.rsdelivers.com/product/motorola/xap0086bdgaa/motorola-xt180-walkie-talkies-2-way-radios/1240925> [Accessed 13 January 2021]

I liked the speaker and buttons so I added that into my design and decided to texture in a screen with numbers on like my monitor.

For the briefcase – I noted that I wanted it to be textured as leather and feature a zip down the side of the model. I also added that I wanted to include the leather detail and handle. The pencil pot was designed similarly to a mug shape and I knew that the pencils and pot would rely mostly on textures to bring to life.
