The main requirements I can think of for my art installation are as follows:
- A good lighting and projection system with engineers in case anything goes wrong
- Low light levels
- A seating area
- We will also need animators and artists to draw up designs for the projections.
- Speakers for the music running along side show
The main issues I can think of for my art installation are :
- Projectors having troubles projecting on to uneven surfaces
- It not being dark enough until really late at night for the lights and projections to show
- The sizing/scaling of the projections
- The music not matching with the projections – timing
- I understand that as the installation relies heavily on the time of day that it may be difficult for tourists to stay this long
I would say the main requirement needed for my installation to work would be a good high quality projector with engineers on standby in case anything goes wrong. The main issue is definitely going to be timing. I may have to find a way of fitting the projections somewhere were it could always be dark – like inside. This would also mean that the projections could be mapped on to a smoother surface and probably wouldn’t have as many issues.
